Have to say that in the end this was a well-timed release of the Moto G by Motorola. Not only are they challenging other mid-price manufacturers to raise their game, they seem to be finally realising how to get out of the doldrums. A kind of waking recognition that something needs to change, that conventional thinking isn’t working.
As much as I like to see accepted wisdom challanged, I take my hat off to anyone who raises their game as Motorola seem to have done here. The Moto G might not be a class leader by this time next year, so there is a need to strike everyhwere while the iron is hot and attract buyers to the brand now.
Additionally, high-end manufacturers like Apple and Samsung have far too long enjoyed being able to charge ridiculous amounts for low cost components like larger capacity memory. Go get ’em Motorola, shake ’em up!
